Biology, Biology G/T, American Government, and American Government Honors

(Q1 x 2 + Q2 x 2 + Q3 x 2 + Q4 x 2 + State assessment x 2) / 10

These state-assessed courses use four 20% quarter grades plus a 20% State end-of-course assessment.

Important HCPSS Notes

Estimates are useful for planning, but official grades, credits, and transcript records are determined by HCPSS and the student's school.

Policy Note

High school credited courses completed in middle school appear on the transcript but are not calculated into high-school GPA.

Codes, GPA, and Credit

HCPSS official records use A, B, C, D, and E without plus or minus signs. Homework may be graded in grades 6-12 but cannot exceed 10% of the total grade.

For I, P, W, X, retakes, credit recovery, dual enrollment, and non-traditional courses, refer to the official HCPSS Policy 8020 implementation procedures.

N/A is for estimates here; official use is limited.
Z earns 0 quality points and no credit until converted.
AP/G/T adds 1.0 point for A, B, or C.
Honors adds 0.5 point for A, B, or C.
